Trying on summer dresses – Elle Blogs

By | July 28, 2020

Although I was struck by the pandemic, I decided that I would not allow my summer clothing plans to derail. While I mostly loitered in house clothes, I occasionally spice things up with nicer options. For this purpose I have ordered funny clothes to try on from time to time. Here are some of these purchases.

I ordered Third-party clothing on Amazonwith mixed results, so I take care not to raise my expectations. And while I was thinking This wrap dress with fluttering sleeves The price was reasonable, I wasn't sold for the print or fit (the sizes are a bit limited, so the style is probably not a good option for those who are in one of the extremes of the size range; the size 0/2 fits loose but I liked the reserved cut-out, the material, an inconspicuous polyester blend, is fluid and well conceals wrinkles.

I loved the many mini-dresses with a square neckline and puff sleeves that are available this summer, and I really wanted to try the well-rated ones ASTR the label Rabia Fit & Flare mini dress (also sold Here and Here), but the fit was totally wrong for me: I couldn't get the three-quarter puffed sleeves, which are quite oversized to begin with, to stay on my shoulders (and I have fairly wide shoulders for my size), so it had to be here as wear strapless dress. This may be a better option for a tall person, and I would suggest reducing the size from your normal size. The material is a denim-like cotton blend (97% cotton, 3% elastane) that feels good, but is a bit stiff out of the pocket. Even though I'm amazed that this dress didn't work, I found a similar style that worked for me and that I'll share next month.

Did I mention that I love the idea of dresses with a square neckline and puffed sleeves? It's great to show ties and I was lucky with similar styles at the reformation. This BB Dakota scattered daisy dress (also sold Here) missed the mark for me; The style is a little bigger, especially around the neckline, so the sleeves clumsily hang on me outside of the middle. But I like how it looks on the Fit model, so YMMV. The dress is lined and the shell is made from a light polyester blend (97% polyester / 3% elastane) that can be hand washed or dry cleaned.

I've been looking forward to it Polo Ralph Lauren cotton oxford shirt dress to be replenished to my size (which looks less and less likely after the style was sold) since the size I previously ordered was a bit too big. In the meantime, I tried on other shirt dresses and got mixed results. The cotton shirt dress from BB Dakota for every occasion is an option I've tried recently: the price is reasonable, but it looks more like an oversized shirt than a shirt dress for me. (For my more rectangular shape, I should really focus on options that have a clearer waist.) The fit is size, but is short and therefore probably not suitable for people of average size or size. The 100% cotton material is strengthened and clearly shows wrinkles.
